At the heart of every Xionia instrument are Motion Waves, our way of giving parameters their own movement, rhythm and expression. Let movements influence one another, evolve independently or synchronise into something greater.
In The Plasma Star, oscillator pitch, pulse width, filter cutoff, resonance and drive can each have a Motion Wave of its own, at its own speed, rhythm and phase or in step with the others, and each wave can influence the others.
Effects work the same way. Every star is designed around a complete effects system of its own, with dedicated controls, routing and Motion Waves on its parameters, so a delay’s feedback can evolve in its own time and a reverb’s size can follow the phrase.
Motion Waves are part of Xionia Core, so every star comes complete, engineered for exceptional sound generation, sound processing and Motion Wave modulation. StarShaper adds the ability to interconnect everything, so whole instruments, Motion Waves and all, can shape one another.

Xionia Intelligence
Intelligence in every instrument, under your control.
Every Xionia instrument benefits from the intelligence of Xionia Core. StarShaper brings that intelligence to the relationships between instruments.
In a star, it works within the instrument, analysing a sound and suggesting changes you can see, adjust or reject. In StarShaper, it reaches across instruments, suggesting how one sound can shape another. It’s optional, and designed to run on your own computer with no cloud connection required. The intelligence changes the parameters. The instrument’s own engine still makes every sound.
Xionia Core creates the sound. Motion Waves bring it to life. Xionia Intelligence helps you discover and control its possibilities. StarShaper connects it all.

Xionia Audio is the pro audio division of Xionia Ltd. Our name is new, but our small team brings more than 30 years of experience in deep software engineering. We build instruments from first principles.
Precision engineering, advanced sound research and a cold, controlled design define everything we make. Our instruments are built to hold extraordinary forces, and to put them under your control.
We’re building Xionia for the long term, so the instruments you invest your time in are supported and keep improving. We work alongside Xionia Studios, which makes games, interactive experiences and apps, and Xionia Labs, which carries out research in artificial intelligence for every division.
